Maxime Saada

CEO of Canal +

Maxime Saada has been Chief Executive Officer of the CANAL+ group since 2015 and Chairman of the Management Board since 2018.

He currently serves as: Chairman of Dailymotion since 2016, Chairman of STUDIOCANAL since 2018, Chairman of L’Olympia and Vice-President of the Lagardère Group since 2023. He was a member of Vivendi’s Management Board between June 2022 and December 2024. Maxime Saada has been with the CANAL+ group for 20 years, starting as the group’s EVP Strategy. After working on the merger with TPS, he successively held the positions of Marketing Director, Head of CANALSAT, Commercial Director, Executive Vice-President in charge of Distribution, before being promoted to Executive Vice-President in charge of pay-TV in 2013.

Before joining CANAL+, Maxime Saada worked for 5 years at McKinsey & Company, after a 4 year experience in the USA with the North American branch of DATAR (Frances’s Interministerial Delegation of Land Planning and Regional Attractiveness). Maxime Saada is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po 1992) and holds an MBA from HEC (1994).

Calvo Mawela

Chairman of the Africa Management Board

Calvo was the CEO of MultiChoice Group after holding office as the group executive: policy and regulatory affairs for the MultiChoice Group. He previously held positions as a professional engineer at Sentech and broadcasting spectrum manager at ICASA. He also served in several ministerial advisory task teams, including the Digital Migration Working Group, Digital Dzonga and the lnformation and Communications Technology Policy Review Panel.

He also served as a commissioner for the Presidential Commission on Fourth lndustrial Revolution. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (previously University of Durban-Westville), a Management Advancement Programme Postgraduate Diploma from Wits Business School, a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics for Competition Law from King's College, London and Strategic IQ: Creating Smarter Corporations Certificate from Harvard Business School.

David Mignot

CEO of CANAL+ Africa and MultiChoice Group

David Mignot is a telecom engineer and economist. He began his career in 1996 in consulting, more specifically in the pay-TV and telecommunications businesses, where he was involved in operator launches in several countries. In 1999, he co-founded a pay-TV operator in the Indian Ocean, which he managed for nearly ten years . He then joined the telecommunications sector by becoming Managing Director of the Outremer Telecom Group, where he restored profitability and where he successfully implemented mobile offers.

In 2011, David Mignot joined CANAL+ as Project Director in charge of the Africa strategic plan. Since June 2013, David Mignot has been CEO AFRICA of the CANAL+ Group, under his leadership, the Africa activity has seen its subscriber base grow from 500,000 to 8 million subscribers and the successful launch of FTTH offers in a dozen countries. His family is bicultural, French and Mauritian.
