R378 000 raised for Nelson Mandela’s Children’s fund

In July this year, DStv brought viewers a week-long tribute pop-up channel honouring the father of our nation, Nelson Mandela.

DStv Media Sales offered advertisers the opportunity to contribute towards the Nelson Mandela’s Children’s fund by advertising on the channel. All advertising spend was then matched by MultiChoice and a total of R378 000 was raised.

The money raised will go towards a new children’s hospital being built in Madiba’s name.  “To be able to keep Nelson Mandela’s memory alive in this meaningful way is the ultimate contribution a broadcaster can make, and we look forward to celebrating him for years to come,” said Fahmeeda Cassim-Surtee, CEO of DStv Media Sales.
